South Africa and the Winter World Transplant Games
South Africa’s first appearance at the Winter World Transplant Games was in 2010 when Merwen Mellett, accompanied with his wife Setha, participated in four events. He won bronze medals in the Slalom, Super Gaint and Parallel Slalom. Merwen Mellett could not participate due to health reasons.
South Africa was represented at the 2012 Winter World Transplant Games by Alan Molenaar. He was supported by his parents Cathy and Nic Molenaar and Leanne Johansson his fiancé.
Robert Laubscher and Luke Dawson have participated in the Nicholas Cup events for children with the support from their fathers Charl and Andrew.
